  • In the listed photographs, the one which shows the back of the packaging shows a rated lifespan of about 1400 hours. However, everywhere else on the internet the back of the Philips 9012LLB1 packaging shows a rated lifespan of only about 400 hours. Why the discrepancy?

Manufacturers marketing. There is nothing we can do about what Philips prints on their packages. That being said, 400 hrs. is closer to reality than 1400 hrs. Halogen bulbs are notorious for being unpredictable. The weather, humidity, and the condition of the alternator/power source play a part in the performance and lifespan of the halogen bulbs. If you read the package, it said, "UP TO." Basically, not really saying that it will last that long, but it can. Totally vague.
